Crystal Beare, MSW, RSW
Social Worker, Psychotherapist
Crystal is a highly experienced Registered Social Worker with over 14 years of practice in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Waterloo, specializing in the Social Determinants of Health, as well as an Honours Bachelor of Social Work from Lakehead University and a Social Service Worker diploma from Fleming College.
Crystal is passionate about supporting a diverse range of clients (18+) through life’s challenges, using a strengths-based approach that empowers clients to recognize their resilience and create meaningful change.
With extensive experience working with First Responders and emergency personnel, Crystal understands the high-pressure demands, trauma, and emotional toll that come with these roles. Having spent years in a hospital setting, she also “speaks Nurse” fluently—so she can keep up with rapid-fire medical jargon, and navigate the fine art of communicating with someone who’s running on caffeine and adrenaline.
Individuals often seek Crystal’s expertise if they are struggling with the following concerns:
Grief and Loss
Anxiety
Stress/Burnout
PTSD & Complex PTSD
Childhood Trauma
Life Transitions
Coping with Chronic Medical Conditions
Operational Stress Injury & Work-Related Stress
Caregiving Challenges
Attachment-Related Concerns (Relationships, etc.)
In addition to her work with individuals, Crystal also offers couples therapy, focusing on:
Communication Challenges
Relationship Discernment
Infidelity
Relational Trauma
Improving Relationship Dynamics
Unique Stressors for First Responder Couples
With a commitment to evidence-based practice, Crystal integrates approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS)-Informed Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy, tailoring each session to the client’s unique needs.
Crystal believes that each person’s journey is unique and recognizes the deep connection between emotional, physical, and cognitive well-being. She provides a safe, non-judgmental space where clients set the pace, ensuring comfort and trust throughout the therapeutic process.
When not in session, Crystal enjoys spending time with her family and her two Springer Spaniels, Gemma and Bridget. In her downtime, she loves comedy, reality TV, and cheering on (sometimes heartbreakingly) the Toronto Maple Leafs.
